North Weekend

On Sunday the girls capped off an undefeated weekend by skating to a 4-1 win over the Pacific Steelers.  Shae Labbe got the girls on the board in the first period before Pacific replied early in the second on a penalty shot to even the score.  In the third period, the girls battled hard and Brittania Gillanders gave the girls the lead before Jessica Sibley scored two and the girls emerged with a 4-1 win.  Carissa Fischer picked up the win in goal.  Saturday afternoon the Warriors picked up their third win of the weekend defeating Balmoral Hall 9-3.  Sam Sutherland, Jessica Sibley and Brittania Gillanders each had 2 goals a piece and Jessyka Holt, Brittney Sawyer and Kathryn Haegedorn had a goal each.  Carissa Fischer picked up the victory in goal.  Earlier in the day, the girls picked up another win defeating Notre Dame 5-2.  Sam Sutherland scored two goals and picked up one assist, Jessica Sibley a goal and two assists and Nicole Blanche and Britannia Gillanders each got a goal a piece.  Abigail Clarke played very well in goal and picked up another victory.  On Friday the Warriors opened with a big 3-1 win over the Okanagan Hockey Academy.  Sam Sutherland got the girls on the board in the first period before Jessyka Holt extended the lead to 2-0 on a nice deflection.  Okanagan replied in the second period and it was 2-1 heading into the third.  The Warriors added some insurance with Megan Normore tipping in a point shot and the girls emerged with a solid 3-1 win.  Abigail Clarke picked up the victory in goal. It was another great weekend for the girls and the team is now an impressive 8-0 in league play and in first place.
