2013 Challenge Cup

The girls wrapped up the Challenge Cup with another tough 5-1 loss. It was a better effort by the girls and was a one goal game with 5 minutes to play before Honeybaked took control with 2 late goals and an empty netter. Desirae Kuhlmann was the goal scorer in the loss. Sunday morning the girls suffered their third straight loss falling 5-2 to NSA. Goal scorers were Jessyka Holt and Brittania Gillanders for the Warriors. Saturday evening the girls lost 6-2 to the St. Louis Lady Blues. It was a very disappointing game for the team. Shae Labbe and Mackenzie Ebel were the goal scorers in the game. Saturday morning the girls dropped a 4-1 decision to Whitby. It was a tight game going into the third period but unfortunately the Warriors came up short. Mackenzie Ebel scored the lone Warner goal in the loss. The Warriors opened the 2013 Challenge Cup in Washington, D.C. with a solid 3-2 win. The girls opened a 3-0 lead on the strength of three power-play goals. Jessica Sibley scored two and Mackenzie Ebel scored what turned out to be the game winner. Carissa Fischer got the win goal. The girls will now take a week off before regrouping for the upcoming playoffs in North Dakota.
