Fundraising Goals and Projects

The Athlete's Center was completed in March 2008.  Thank you to everyone who helped and supported WHS in this project!

Rome Meisser shows his support
To put this into perspective, one must first know the history of Rome. Rome was born in 1905 and moved to Warner in 1910. He was a grade 4 student in 1914 at the time Warner was the first community in Alberta to consolidate all the rural schools into one larger school. He was a young boy, likely mystified by the significance of a small community showing foresight and vision to try something new and innovative.

At 99, Rome sadly passed away, but he left knowing full well the significance of his donation to the Warner Hockey School. He realized that this project is bold and creative. He knows that the Warner community is fully behind the hockey school and wanted to show Warner that he is in full support as well. We thank Rome for his generous donation and unwaivering support. The team will be wearing a patch on their uniforms to acknowledge this great man.

Canbra Foods

Canbra Foods generously donated $35,000 to our Athlete's Center in the fall of 2007. This donation will go towards the completion of an amazing athlete's facility which will also be available for minor hockey and all surrounding communities to utilize.

Parrish and Heimbecker

Another generous contribution to our hockey program has come from Parrish and Heimbecker. A contribution of  $10,000 was also alocated to the Athlete's Center.

Warner Ag Society

The Warner Agriculture Society has been and continues to be a great supporter of the Warner Hockey School. Their most recent donation of $15,000 towards the completion of  the Athlete's Center was greatly appreciated.

Thank You also to the many individuals and companies who have also donated time or financial help.
