Former Warner Warrior, Muriel McIntyre earned the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Year award after winning medalist honors Tuesday at the conference championship at St. Andrews Golf Course. Muriel attended the Warner Hockey School from 2004 - 2007 and plays golf and hockey for Concordia University in Wisconsin.
McIntyre fired a NAC single-round record 1-under-par 70 to finish at 7-over for the tournament – 32 strokes better than second place. It was her fourth-consecutive NAC Player of the Year award, which makes her only the second student-athlete in conference history to win the award four times.
McIntyre (Penticton, British Columbia, Canada) led the field with 33 pars and seven birdies, while finishing 1-under on par 5s at the NAC Championship. She concluded her senior year with a 77.9 stroke average – 8.7 strokes better than the next best golfer – and nine rounds in the 70s. McIntyre’s career average was 81.6 (3,142 strokes, 38.5 rounds).
